Gregory L. Egland
Principal and Teacher – Algebra I, Geometry & Music Appreciation

Mr. Egland has a B.A. in Music Theory and Composition from Chapman University and has additional graduate units at California State University, Fullerton, and at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This year is Mr. Egland’s twenty-seventh year as a classroom teacher (pre-school through high school). He has taught music, math, computer science, drama, English and science. Additionally, Mr. Egland is an experienced administrator. Besides his administrative responsibilities at Eldorado School for the Gifted Child and Emerson Honors High School, he has served the Islamic community as Acting Principal and Director of Academic Affairs at Orange Crescent School during the 1995-96 school year.

Shaheena Qayyum, Ph.D.
Vice Principal and Teacher – College Honors Biology, College Honors Health, College Honors Psychology & Life Science

Dr. Shaheena has an M.S. in Biology, an M.S. in Nutrition and a Ph.D. in Biology. Dr. Shaheena has taught at the university, college and high school levels. She comes to CSA as an experienced administrator as well. Dr. Shaheena served as both the Acting Director and as Deputy Regional Director of AIO University in Islamabad, Pakistan. She has served as the Acting Principal for CSA and is now the Vice Principal and a teacher for CSA.

Carol deBoisblanc
Teacher – English

Mrs. D (as she is known to the students) has a B.A. (cum laude) in Education/English and an M.S. in Secondary Education/English, both from St. John’s University, New York. She is an experienced high school English teacher holding a permanent New York State Public School Teacher Certificate, a Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential, a Cross-Cultural and Language Development (CLAD) certificate.

Donna Calciana
Teacher – Social Science

Mrs. Calciana began teaching in 1974 and has 19 years of classroom teaching experience as well as five additional years of tutoring experience. She holds an A.A. degree in Cultural Antropology and a B.S. in Organizational Behavior. Mrs. Calciana holds a Multiple Subject Credential with Cross Language and Academic Development (CLAD) emphasis as well as Professional Clear, Single Subject Credentials in both English and Social Science.

Muayeda A. Halboos
Teacher – Arabic and Islamic Studies

Sr. Muayeda holds a B.A. in Arabic Literature from Al-Mustansariya University in Baghdad, Iraq. She has served as a teacher and tutor of Arabic in the United States as well as in Baghdad.

Naima Zaza
Teacher – Arabic and Islamic Studies

Sr. Naima holds a B.A. in Arabic Literature and Education from the University of Jordan. She has been a longtime teacher of Arabic and Islamic studies both here in the Unites States and in Aman, Jordan where she also was a producer for the Jordan Radio Network.

Ruhina Khan
Office Manager

Sr. Ruhina has a B.A. in Statistics from Karachi University in Karachi, Pakistan. Additionally, Sr. Ruhina is well grounded in the use of Microsoft Office and has studied Java programming. She has worked as an Americorp Vista Volunteer and served as Agency Coordinator for Access California Services.
