Welcome to California Science Academy

In September 2002, California Science Academy (CSA) opened its doors to provide students an outstanding college preparatory education in an Islamic environment. California Science Academy is an Islamic High School and is an educational institution committed to instilling character, building moral awareness, and developing children’s minds, bodies, and spirits.
Realizing that adolescent Muslims living in America have a difficulty in bridging the gap between American culture and their Islamic values, CSA strives to combine high academic standards with a religious education. High school serves as the most trying time in a growing child’s life because s/he is mentally, physically, and emotionally growing and learning how to demarcate him/herself in today’s demanding society. CSA helps adolescent Muslims transition during this period of their lives and provides Muslim parents with a fresh alternative to the American public high school system. Consistent with the Islamic tradition, CSA seeks to develop leaders who are rooted in Quranic values and committed to meeting the challenges of building a just society.
California Science Academy’s accelerated curriculum not only prepares students to enter into renowned colleges, but also teaches them the skills they need to successfully function at the college level. To prepare students, upper level high school students take community college courses through Coastline Community College in conjunction with their rigorous CSA courses. All courses completed through Coastline Community College are UC/Cal State approved and transferable. Working in combination with Coastline Community College, CSA hopes to provide its students entering college with knowledge, experience, and transferable units toward general education courses.
